According to the public relations report of the Iranian Fisheries Organization, quoted by Fars news agency, based on the results of the preliminary statistics of the customs of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the two months of 2023 , the total value of aquatic exports in the current year is 58 million dollars, and the value of imports in this period is close to It was 4 million dollars, and by comparing these figures, the foreign trade balance of the aquatic industry is positive 54 million dollars.
Based on the value of the country’s aquaculture exports in the two months of this year, it reached 44 to 58 million dollars with a 29% growth compared to the previous year. Also, in terms of weight, during the two months of the current year, the export of all kinds of aquatic products increased by 23% compared to the same period, from 25 to 31 thousand tons.
In this way, the import of fishery products to the country in this month of 2023 amounted to 973 tons and reached the value of 4 million dollars. Therefore, the import of fishery products has increased by 174% in terms of weight and 56% in terms of value compared to the same period last year.
Therefore, the largest share of export belongs to all types of fish, which accounts for 70% of the export share. The main items of aquatic exports in the two months of 2023 are: fish carp with a weight of 6069 tons and a value of 4 million 842 thousand 798 dollars. Horse hair with the export of 3719 tons and the value of 7 million 318 thousand 923 dollars, salmon with the export of 1484 tons and the value of 4 million 285 thousand 668 dollars, shrimp with the export of 5170 tons and the value of 19 million 648 thousand 997 dollars, fish feed With the export of 7832 tons and the value of 6 million 654 thousand and 241 dollars, they formed the main exported aquatic products.
This report adds: In the two months of this year, the export of shrimp has grown by 113 percent compared to the same period last year. So that it has reached from 2427 tons to 5170 tons in the current year. Also, the largest share of import belongs to fish tuna with 46% and all types of fish with 39%, and the largest share of all types of fish is tilapia import. The main items of aquatic imports in the two months of 2023 include tons of fish weighing 449 tons with a value of 1 million 4 thousand 233 dollars and tilapia fish with a weight of 362 tons and a value of 1 million 287 thousand 911 dollars.
The export comparison of all types of aquatic products in the two months of 2023 was 31482 tons with a value of 58 million 26 thousand 809 dollars, compared to the two months of 2022 with a weight of 25601 tons and a value of 44 million 830 thousand 634 dollars. It shows changes of 23% in weight and 29% in terms of value.
973 tons of aquatic products were imported in the first two months of this year.
